Nation Star Academy (NSA) was honored to welcome a special delegation from ME CARE Hong Kong, led by Prof. Jimmy Yong, Director of ME CARE, together with 11 participants from diverse professional backgrounds, including school principal, teachers, medical professional, other professionals, and university students. The participants were Kenneth Ng, Amy Li, Tiffany Cheung, Fang Jia Ping, Li Kin Chuen, Shirley Liu, Liu Qi Mei, Gabriel Ng, Ng Yin Ling, Kitman Wong, and Candy Fong.

ME CARE is a non-profit organization that focuses on healthcare services, education, and social activities in various communities. ME CARE also maintains international collaborations with various organizations and educational institutions in Indonesia as part of its efforts to make a positive contribution to society.

A Warm Welcome from Nation Star Academy

The ME CARE delegation arrived at Nation Star Academy at 8:45 a.m. Western Indonesia Time (WIB) and was warmly and enthusiastically welcomed by Sonya Francien Kalengkongan, S.S., M.Pd., International Program Coordinator and PIC for the international collaboration between ME CARE and Nation Star Academy, representatives of the Foundation, school principals, teachers, and NSA students.

The warm welcome was further enhanced by an impressive Wushu performance by Nation Star Academy’s Primary and Junior High School students. The performance served as an engaging opening to the visit while reflecting the spirit of cultural diversity, which is an important part of the relationship between NSA and ME CARE Hong Kong.

Sharing Insights into Culture and Higher Education in Hong Kong and China

During the visit, the ME CARE team conducted two special sessions: one with NSA Junior High School students and another with NSA Senior High School students. The theme of the sessions was “Culture and Higher Education in Hong Kong and China.”

Through interactive presentations supported by engaging visuals, the ME CARE team introduced the students to various aspects of life in Hong Kong, including its language, culture, cuisine, transportation, and various interesting and well-known places, including Victoria Harbour.

The students also gained insights into the characteristics of language use in Hong Kong. Unlike mainland China, Cantonese is the dominant language spoken in Hong Kong, while English is also widely used.

In addition to introducing Hong Kong’s culture and daily life, the ME CARE team shared their experiences of higher education in Hong Kong and student life on university campuses. This provided NSA students with a new perspective on opportunities for further education and learning experiences in an international environment.

Interestingly, the sessions were delivered in English and Mandarin, allowing students not only to gain knowledge about Hong Kong and China but also to experience communication in a multilingual context.

NSA Students Showed Enthusiasm and Active Engagement

The sessions were conducted with great enthusiasm. NSA students followed the presentations attentively and demonstrated a high level of curiosity. The atmosphere became even more engaging through question-and-answer sessions and direct interaction between the students and the ME CARE team.

Many students took the opportunity to ask questions and share their experiences. Even after the presentations had ended, the warm interaction between the NSA students and the ME CARE team continued. The students were enthusiastic about talking and interacting informally with the guests from Hong Kong.

For the students, this activity provided a learning experience beyond the classroom. They had the opportunity to learn directly from the experiences of professionals and educators from an international environment while broadening their perspectives on cultures and education beyond Indonesia.

Strengthening International Educational Networks

The visit also marked an important milestone in strengthening the relationship between Nation Star Academy and ME CARE Hong Kong, particularly in the areas of education and international exchange of experiences.

This collaboration had previously been realized through an educational excursion to Hong Kong in January 2026, when several NSA students had the opportunity to visit Hong Kong through collaboration with ME CARE and educational institutions in Hong Kong.

This meeting was particularly meaningful for NSA students who had previously participated in the Hong Kong visit. They were visibly excited and delighted to meet Prof. Jimmy Yong again, as well as the school principals from Hong Kong whom they had previously met during the program.

This reunion demonstrated that international exchange and collaboration programs provide not only academic experiences but also opportunities to build relationships, friendships, and lasting positive memories between students and educational communities from the two countries.

Concluding the Visit with Fellowship

The ME CARE Hong Kong visit to Nation Star Academy concluded with lunch and a fellowship gathering between the ME CARE delegation and the extended Nation Star Academy community. The warm and friendly atmosphere provided a meaningful conclusion to the series of activities.

Through this visit, Nation Star Academy hopes that its relationship and collaboration with ME CARE Hong Kong will continue to grow, particularly in the areas of education, cultural exchange, and the development of global perspectives among young people.

This collaboration also represents a tangible expression of the shared commitment to providing an education that is not only oriented toward academic achievement but also fosters care and compassion, openness to diversity, a spirit of sharing, and an awareness of the importance of making a positive contribution to the global community.

With the spirit of “Learning, Sharing, and Serving,” Nation Star Academy and ME CARE Hong Kong are expected to continue working together to build educational and cultural bridges between countries and create a broader positive impact on young people. Nation Star Academy expresses its sincere appreciation and gratitude to Prof. Jimmy Yong and the entire ME CARE Hong Kong team for their visit, fellowship, and valuable contributions. May the collaboration that has been established continue to grow and create more opportunities for learning, sharing, and serving for students and educational communities in Indonesia and Hong Kong.
